Guardian reports today that Amazon Kindle Fire may have eaten into iPad Sales because of it’s $199 price. Amazon have sold between 4m to 5m Kindle Fires and has affected the iPad sales.
Tavis McCourt, of the stockbrokers Morgan Keegan, lowered it’s estimate of iPad sales from 16m to 13m in the fourth quarter which shows a cut of 3m in sales. While the iPad sales got affected by the growing lower end tablets, the sale of iPhone has surpassed the expectations. Apple sold 29m iPhones in this quarter as expected to 27m. McCourt calculates that Apple will report revenues of $37.9bn (£24.2bn), its biggest ever.
Apple has also seen 17.7% increase in their MAC computer sales which marks 23 straight quarters in which MAC sales has grown faster than PC. 2012 will be another sale packed year for Apple when next generation iPad (iPad 3) and complete redesigned iPhone 5 will be on shelves for sale later this year.
