Apple has halted sales of it’s newest iPhone 4S after fans had a fight with security guard. There are reports of some throwing eggs on the apple store in anger. Fans who queued for hours before the launch were desperate to get their hands on the device. Police has detained at least two people outside the Beijing shop on Friday.
Apple said its other mainland China stores — one in Beijing and three in Shanghai — had sold out of the new device within hours of the launch.
Some 1000 people were gathered around Sanlitun store during the early hours of Friday when frustrated shoppers attack security guard.
Unfortunately we were unable to open our store at Sanlitun due to the large crowd, and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, iPhones will not be available in our retail stores in Beijing and Shanghai for the time being.”
